Autism Interview #160, Part One: Marcelle Ciampi on Core Inclusion in the Workplace and School

 Marcelle Ciampi M.Ed. (aka Samantha Craft), a respected Autistic author and worldwide advocate, is best known for her writings found in the well-received book Everyday Aspergers. She serves as the Ambassador and Senior Manager of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Ultranauts Inc., an engineering firm with a neurodiversity-hiring initiative, where Ciampi is credited for developing an innovative universal design approach for inclusion. She also provides keynotes, workshops, corporate training, consulting, and life coaching for Spectrum Suite. In Part One of her two-part interview, Ciampi discussed how Ultranauts is serving as a model of workplace inclusion and offers advice for advocating for inclusion in the educational setting as well.  

Autism Interview #129: Daniel Maskit on Workplace Accommodations and Autistic Expertise

Daniel Maskit is a creative technologist, runner, writer, and public speaker based in the U.K. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Caltech, and has held research appointments at MIT, Stanford, and the MIT Media Lab. His twenty year career in visual effects for feature films saw him work on projects such as I, Robot, The Lord of The Rings, and Harry Potter. He is a member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). He loves bears and blogs at Zen Master Bear Speaks on a variety of different topics, including autism, disability, and running. This week he discussed workplace accommodations and the importance of engaging with the Autistic community.

Autism Interview #109: Nic Laughter on Masking and Removing Barriers to Employment

Nic Laughter is a developer and public advocate with a new podcast called Autistic AF that focuses on autism in adults. He writes and speaks about issues related to autism with a special interest in eliminating the barriers many autistic face to entering the workforce. This week he shared his diagnosis story and discussed different ways society can be more accommodating to autistics in social and professional settings, and his goals for improving autistic access to meaningful work.
